اردشیر همچنان زنده می ماند!

هفدهم مهر نخستین سالروز درگذشتِ هنرمند بزرگ ایران ِ معاصر اردشیر محصص است.  اردشیر بیش از پنجاه سال با دیدی نافذ، قلمی توانا، طنزی روشنگر، شیطنتی معصومانه، جسارتی ستودنی، و قلبی  پر شور نقش پرداز تباهی ها، زشتی ها، زبیائی ها و امید ها و سرابهای ما  و زمان وجهان ما بود. اردشیر فریاد اعتراض و شکوه بیداری و دعوت به آزادی و آزادگی بود  و تا واپسین لحظات زندگی آنچه بوده ایم، هستیم و میتوانیم باشیم را به تصویر در آورد.

 یادِ این انسان دوست داشتنی و میراث گرانبهای هنری او همواره و همچنان زنده است!

برای بزرگداشت این هنرمند بزرگ بزودی مراسمی در شهر نیویورک برگزار خواهد شد.

Ardeshir Lives On!

October 9^th marks the first anniversary of the passing of Ardeshir Mohassess, Iran’s great contemporary artist. For more than fifty years, with uncanny perception, mischievous humor, unflinching courage, boundless enthusiasm, and a powerful pen he captured and recorded our hopes and illusions, and the atrocities, the ugliness, and the beauty of our times and our world. Ardeshir’s art was a call of protest, a symbol of awakening, and a quest for freedom and liberty. Until his last breath, he continued to draw and show us as we were, are, and can be.

The memory of this extraordinary human being and his immense artistic legacy will endure forever.

A memorial for Ardeshir Mohassess is being planned to take place soon in New York City.
