News: January 27, 2003 _ Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, A Prominent Religious Dissident Was Released From the  House Incarceration After 5 years . Mr. Montazeri Was Jailed for His Protest on Dictatorial Treatments of the Islamic Government Toward the Iranian People. And Particularly His Open Protest to Mr. Khamenei , the Supreme Leader. Mr. Montazeri Himself one of the Major Architect of the " Supreme Leadership Under High Theocratic Leader " in Khebregan ( Notables ) Parliament After teh Revolution Suggested that the Supreme Leadership Should be Both Elective and the Leader Should be Responsible to His Acts Which is Not True in the Case of Present Supreme Leader Mr. Khamenei. Mr. Montazeri Was the Heir to Supreme Leadership After Ayatolla Khomeini When He was Deposed for his Protest to Mass Execution of Political Prisoners After Iran-Iraq War. 
The Iranian People Respect Mr. Montazeri  for His Fights for Freedom of Iranian People During the Shah's Time and Again in Recent Years in Islamic Republic Regime Which Caused Him a Lot of  Sufferings and Imprisonments for This noble Cause. 
However Iranian National Front Principally is Against Any Form of Religious Supreme Leadership for the Country. Supreme Leadership is Nothing But Ownership of Government  by Religious Leaders & Religious Rules and This  Only Stabilizes a Religious Guardianship for the People.
The Iranian People Who are Struggling for a Democratic Rule and Regime Will Refuse Any Kind of Religious Regime.
